What's New for the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan?

Catering to Americans' love of big cars, Volkswagen added nearly 11 inches of length to the 2018 Tiguan, giving passengers more room than ever before to spread out and relax. With this newfound space, Volkswagen added in a third row of seats for passengers, which makes the 2018 Tiguan able to hold up to seven passengers. The wheelbase on the latest Tiguan is 7.3 inches greater than the 2017 model. Beneath the hood, the 2018 Tiguan has a 184HP, 2.0L engine and comes standard with an eight speed automatic transmission. Unlike the 2017 model, the 2018 Tiguan can use standard gasoline instead of just premium gasoline. The 2018 model is loaded with tech-savvy features like Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and smartphone connectivity.

Great Trims to Choose From

The SE has additional safety and tech features, including an eight-inch touchscreen system and blind spot monitoring technology. The SE's stylish interior features V-Tex leatherette seats. This model is available with a sunroof. Next up is the SE with 4Motion. This trim level has all the amenities of the SE plus all-wheel drive. Available amenities include a sunroof, 17-inch wheels, and a third row of seats. After the SE models come the SEL trims. The base SEL features a touchscreen navigation system, remote starting, and adaptive cruise control. The SEL with 4Motion has the same touchscreen technology and cruise control, as well as all-wheel drive and an optional third row of seats. Rounding out the trim levels are the SEL Premium and the SEL Premium with 4Motion. The SEL Premium has LED headlights, leather seats, and a digital cockpit. These amenities appear in the SEL Premium, which also has all-wheel drive and an optional third row of seats.
